Who We Are

Rodney is not only an accomplished visual artist, he has an art model resume spanning more than 20 years and is interested in mentoring and assisting other models in professional development.

Rod's ultimate goal is to operate an open studio space to display his visual art and offer weekly live drawing sessions and model / artist demonstrations and talks with a focus on figure drawing/painting and would allow for artists to participate during these sessions to network with models and be inspired in the creation of new art.

Rod feels at home in the Southwest region of the United States because it is similar to his upbringing in a very rural environment.  He has been able to discover new forms of inspiration and learn once again to be inspired by his internal voice he contributes to his relationship with God.  His faith is what Rod contributes to the inspiration behind many of his newer works of art, especially his photography in nature.

Since Rod is not formally trained in art but has been creative since his youth, life has been his best teacher.  His earliest works of art display a lot of emotions from many tumultuous and troubling periods of his life before being able to recognize God's direction and to identify the natural beauty around him.

Earlier in his career, Rod created art reflecting visions of a fashion world found in his dreams.  With a desire to design for individuals he did not know but imagined by referencing haute couture books and fashion shows, Rod began spending more time in nature as he had done in his youth and became excited about capturing natural beauty by means of photography.  Hence, his decision to relocate from the Washington, DC metropolitan area to the Desert Southwest.

Rod is most fulfilled as an artist when viewers of his bodies of work are able to see the progression and appreciate his evolving artistic career --  seeing all aspects of his artistry, mind, body, and spirit.
